The Book Club I Wanted, So I Made It #40

This episode is all about something I've quietly wanted to create for a long time and it's finally come to fruition. After a chaotic week and a reminder of how much I value slower, more reflective moments, it somehow felt like the right time to finally start. In this episode, I share why I’ve always been drawn to the idea of a book club, what I want this one to feel like, and how it’s really just an extension of the work I already do.

I also introduce our first book, Fear of Flying, and talk through why it felt like the perfect place to start, with themes of becoming, curiosity, sexuality, self-discovery, and the tension between who we are and who we’re expected to be. This isn’t about reading for the sake of it. It’s about reading things that stay with you, shift something, inspire you to live bold and more truthfully and think about life a little differently.

Key Takeaways:

  • The idea of book club as something inspiring, reflective, and shared

  • Choosing books that encourage truth, honesty, and becoming

  • Why Fear of Flying is the first book

  • The tension between social expectations and self-trust

  • Curiosity in sexuality and self-discovery
